The LAMPa Policy Council recently gathered at Camp Hebron, Halifax, for their annual retreat. This year’s retreat goals included building a sense of call to the ministry of LAMPa as the body of Christ. In addition, the group reviewed the mission of LAMPa and reflected on its relationship to scripture, our baptismal call, the ELCA Constitution and social statements, and our contextual relationship to ELCA World Hunger and Domestic Mission. Along with LAMPa Director Tracey DePasquale,  The Rev. Craig Miller,  Upper Susquehanna Synod Assistant to the Bishop/Director for Evangelical Mission assisted in the facilitation of these conversations .

The Policy Council began to discern their focus for the next legislative session by reviewing current focus areas and discussing what we are seeing and hearing in our congregations, communities and media. LAMPa continues to move forward in developing teams to focus on issues including Hunger, Racial Justice, Mental Health/Addiction, Creation Justice, Education, Immigration,  and Poverty/Housing/Jobs.

“I am deeply grateful for the investment of time and reflection our colleagues made in this partnership,” Tracey DePasquale, LAMPa director, said. “Special thanks to Pastor Craig Miller for sharing his gifts of facilitation, time, insights and knowledge.”
