Special Guest: Sheronda Armstrong

In January 2013, a storm system brought significant damage to communities in Alabama, including an EF-2 tornado that hit the historic civil rights community of Selma. Following the storm, distrust hampered recovery and delayed the Disaster Case Management process. In that space, the Southeastern Synod hired Sheronda Armstrong to work with the Long-Term Recovery Committee. In this Partner Spotlight, Sheronda will share how her position and advocacy efforts helped build genuine relationships with the community and how, over time, integrity, honesty, and trust have changed her work and led to higher engagement with the Disaster Case Management process.
