Please act today to urge your state representative and senator to vote to include General Assistance in the PA General Budget. General Assistance will best serve Commonwealth residents if it is included in the General Budget, NOT as an afterthought in the Human Code.
General Assistance in Pennsylvania (GA) provides cash support – about $200 per month – to a small targeted population of Pennsylvanians in need of immediate, temporary help. The vast majority of the fewer than 6,000 GA recipients are people with disabilities, their caregivers, people in treatment for a substance use disorder, people fleeing domestic violence, and children being cared for by friends or neighbors.
